We were in the Square on Sept 30th...the 3rd anniversary of the 'attempted coup' in Ecuador.
We remember, back in 2010, when we were totally confused and a little bit nervous (you can go back in our blog for our experience).
Our Ecuadorian friends seemed more nervous than we did at the time. Probably due to their vivid memories of government unrest in the past.
This year's Sept 30 was much more calm.
Here are some pictures...
White flags waving in the breeze and an artist at work.
A long scroll of paper that the public was welcome to write on...
Our bumper sticker gift from one of the organizers...
We sat on a bench in the sunshine and people-watched (until the loud music took over and we moved on).
City pĆ³lice walking the Square.
Families out enjoying the day.
