Pottery Day, Part 2 (Vega)

We were all excited to visit the Vega studio.  None of us had been there before.

Eduardo Vega is one of the most famous artists in Ecuador.  His studio is located up on Turi Hill, overlooking Cuenca.  The view from Turi still knocks us out!

We knew we were in for a treat as we entered the art-lined gate and passed the wall murals...(Several murals can be found around Cuenca, too).

The showroom is filled with eye candy:

These 2 decorative plates give you a flavor of the colors/designs.
(The 2nd plate shows an erupting volcano...with 'spirits' in the sky...)

Hard to choose, but these are some favorites:

(We DO have this 'thing' with Fragata birds!)

We all called this 'Pottery Extravaganza Day" another fun day in Cuenca!

  1. This is my most favorite place to visit. The first time we went with Chuck and sister-in-law Carolyn, Carolyn and I were busy talking to them about a special order of tile and didn't notice that Chuck and Jim were talking with E. Vega himself, who was right there in the showroom.
