Shots from the air as we were coming into Guayaquil.
Clouds over the Andes. If you fly, you will see the most incredible, stunning cloud formations.
The airport's koi pond.
On the road out of town.
The bus terminal.
Close-ups of the textiles in the Suite (for P2 and Mom).
This is a pic of a 'textile' in the sand! We guess some kind of little animal made these tracks.
Coming back into Cuenca.
One more flower from Bob and Rox's garden.
Dummies for sale in Montanita. On New Year's Eve at midnight, dummies are burned all over Ecuador. Out with the old, in with the new.
Happy New Year!
We're using the blog to share our adventures in Cuenca, Ecuador and beyond. We hope the information and pictures are helpful, entertaining and fun for friends and family.

Coast Visit! Part 2
More pics of our most excellent visit to the Coast.
We have a soft spot for iguanas, well, for all animals. Can you imagine seeing iguanas on your property? This little guy is pretty curious.
It happens all the time at Bob and Rox's.
Meet Lorraine, the resident parrot. You wonder what's going on in her head as she runs through all her sounds and words.
La Fragata! (frigate bird)
Lovely gardens.
Fish were running pretty good.
Guys were hauling in the catch.
The Casa Blanca!
Kids playing in the surf.
Shell and Marsha's new home. What a staircase!
Agripina came to visit.
She brought these delicious corn cakes for breakfast.
Best buds having a chat.
Fire in the sky.
A fishing village up the road with good lunch.
Orange car, orange shirt. All color-coordinated for the birthday and lookin' great!
Part 3 is next.

Coast Visit! Part 1
We were delighted to take a little trip to the Coast to help celebrate Brother Bob's birthday!
Yes, he's 39...again...he's still looking and acting like a young whipper/snapper (how does he do that?)
We always try to fly everywhere rather than go by land (Rich gets terrible motion sickness). So, we hopped on a plane with our favorite airline, Aerogal. 30 minutes later, we were off that plane and hugging Birthday Bob!
(This is a pic of the embroidered headrest...iguana!)
Frigate birds on the planes, too!
It's been awhile since we've seen the ocean. Here's our first glimpse of sand and sea, this trip.
Rox and Coquita were ready for us.
We had the joy and honor to be the first visiters in their new Suite! And, what a Sweet Suite it is!!
All decorated up, with all the nice little touches. Highly recommended if you're headed that way.
Our own private porch.
All the beautiful pictures of sunsets you've seen on Bob and Rox's blog are actually even more beautiful in person. But here's our version, too.
We ate, we drank, we chatted and visited for hours and hours. We walked on the beach and loved getting our toes in the sand and surf.
We had to visit Montanita again to see all the updates and changes. We also visited with Shell and Marsha and family...wow, what a fabulous place they have built up the road.
And, of course, we celebrated the Birthday Boy at his favorite restaurant, the Casa Blanca! We had ring-side seats, perfect for people-watching...we watched families and surfers, street entertainers and vendors and crazy kids pass on by.
We relaxed to the roar of the waves, soaked up some warm sun and had a whole lot of fun! Happy to be home in Cuenca, but we sure had fun at the Coast with family. Already planning the next visit.
