Road Trips -- Llama Alert!

We like to head on out of busy Cuenca occasionally to see the countryside.
Here are pictures from some recent adventures.

Back to the Trout Farm, Dos Chorreras (2 waterfalls).  We have blogged on this wonderful place before.  It's high up in the Andes and offers delicious, fresh trout fixed every which way.

The grounds are gorgeous.

Llama Alert!!

A good sized llama herd wanders the property!

We discovered this beautiful place, called

(Horse Bell)

Horses on the property.

A quick visit to the small area right outside Cuenca, called Banos.  Not to be confused with the bigger town of Banos up north.  This Church was built in 1955.

Close-up.

The Hosteria Doran in 'our' Banos is lovely.

We love this tile mural.

Fun hats at the gift shop.

Awaiting lunch in the dining room with Barbara and Howard.

You know, sometimes you need to 'jump over the back fence' (as Rich's Mom used to say) and see something new...especially for a little peace and quiet, beauty and fresh air.
